Hello Everyone!
My name is Jasmine (aka Ms. Arame), I am owner and director of the Capoeira Kids program - Capoeira Clubhouse. I am SO excited for next week! We have so many FUN things planned!
Below is important information for next week, so please read through!
Drop Off/Pick Up:
Location: Please make sure you have our correct location: 501 SE 2nd Street Gainesville, FL 32601
Parking: There is street parking along the sidewalk just across from the academy. I will park my car there so you can see which side.
Early Drop Off (no extra charge) begins at 8:00 a.m. We will have stations for campers to play until camp starts!
*We keep the academy pretty cold in the morning to make sure the building stays cool through the hot afternoon. Please feel free to pack a sweater or jacket for your camper!*
Camp Start: We will begin at 9:00 a.m. To set your child up for the best success please drop off by 8:45 on their first day. This helps campers warm up, get used to the space, and have time to say goodbye :)
Pick Up: Our last class of the day ends at 4:45 p.m. with late pick up going until 5:30 p.m.
Park Time: We will plan to go to Depot Park in the morning to take advantage of the cooler weather and get ahead of other camps that take trips there! The splash pad is open and we will be playing at the splash pad in the morning! We will finish our park time with a picnic lunch.
Academy Time: The remainder of the day will be spent at our academy full of games, training, and lots and lots of FUN!
Communication: I will be available via text and phone all day as needed. I will be adding everyone to a text group Capoeira Summer Camp to share pictures, videos and announcement/reminders as needed.
What to wear: Please pack bathing suits and a towel daily as we will be going to Depot Park to play at the splash pad. Please pack your camper clothes that is comfortable to move in shorts, leggings, t-shirts. This is a physical camp with lots of exercise! If your child has accidents once in a while please pack a spare set of clothes.
If you would like to purchase a Capoeira Massape T-Shirt please visit our online store. I will have the shirts ready for you the first day of camp!
Food: Please pack lunch and LOTS of snacks and a water bottle. We move A LOT in this camp and kids will burn a lot of calories. Please pack them more food than you usually do for school lunch because they will be hungry. We highly encourage you to consider high-fuel foods such as fruits, veggies, healthy fats and proteins as this is the best sustenance for your active camper! We are happy to offer further recommendations if you would like!
Water: Please pack a water bottle with your child’s name on it. We have a water cooler at the academy so they can refill their bottles. Feel free to leave their bottles at the academy for the week.
Socials: Please like us or follow us on Facebook and Instagram. We are rebranding our Kids program from Capoeira Massapê to Capoeira Clubhouse. Posts for camp will be on the Clubhouse and Massapê pages :)
If you would like to get your child warmed up with some Capoeira moves check out CC’s YouTube for some fun exercises!
Lastly, please let me know if there are any questions you may have or any important info about your child you would like us to know to make their experience better!
